Business of the Month Interview
Tell us a little bit about:
- Yourself: I’m a
very creative type of person and love anything hands on, so crafts have always
been my passion. I have been lucky enough to be able to persue my passion and
work for my self…I’m 51 now, so its never to late to go for it.
- Briefly about the history of your business: I have been running this business now for
about 4 years & it all started due to my hairdresser. She was looking for
Christening candles and new how I always loved to have a go at anything craft
wise, so off I went . Had a search on the web and then started practising.
After 6 months I had it nailed and the rest is history as they say.
- What your business offers: My business offers a
service for anyone who has an event, promotion or where you need something to
mark an occasion. The candles can be personalised as much or as little as you
like. I cater for Weddings, Christenings, Birthdays, Memorials and any event or
occasion you can think of.
- Methods of advertising that you have found useful.: I
have been advertising on any website that offers a free listing, as most
advertising is way too expensive for a small business. I also advertise via Car
magnets on my car.
- What inspiring words or advice do you have for other
people who wish to start a work at home business? Never think its too late to
have a go and don’t try and be big straight away and splash out money, take
your time. It was about 18months before my business took off and now I would
say about 50% is by recommendations from past clients.
